Our Story...

Heather and Annie are a mother & daughter baking duo. Heather learned how to bake sourdough bread a few years ago and Annie and the rest of the family enjoyed weekly baked goods. Then, friends and family started requesting Heather's bread too! Annie, a sophomore in high school is now learning not only how to bake sourdough, but how to market, package and provide amazing customer service. It's a win-win for us, our family, friends and neighbors.

We strive to have weekly pick-ups from our Scottsdale home bakery. Our goal is to make as many of these pick-ups, or we like to say "bread drops," on Fridays but schedules and traveling will mean that other days will be selected as well. The best way to know when we are scheduling a bread drop, is to be subscribed to our Hot Plate page by visiting us here: https://www.hotplate.com/apronstringsbakery?sms_reminder=true   We will only bake for pre-paid, pre-orders for these weekly Scottsdale bread drops. 


In addition to our Scottsdale home bakery, we have weekly bread drops, mostly on Mondays, at Cordially, located at 5121 N. Central Ave. 85012
Phoenix, AZ 85012. These bread drops are not pre-orders and you pay at Cordially. First come, first serve! Follow us on Instagram (apronstringsbakeryaz) for notification of Cordially bread drops!

We are very sorry but at this time, we do not offer gluten free options. 

We will consider custom orders. Please send Heather an email at heatherbakesbread to inquire.

Our traditional artisan loaves contain either King Arthur unbleached bread flour or Organic Kirkland AP flour, sourdough starter, filtered water and sea salt (I use unrefined mineral rich sea-salt which occasionally means you might get a salt crunch but it's so yummy and good for you! 


Our seasonal sweet and savory mini loaves as well as other baked goods will have all the ingredients listed on our Hot Plate page when orders are open and each package will be labeled with ingredients. 

Each state has it's own rules and regulations about how "cottage" home bakery is allowed to operate. In Arizona, Apron Strings Bakery is a registered cottage bakery according to AZ Cottage Food Program rules, and we hold a certified food handler's certificate. CF-1773181828.
